Fall 2017 Sunday School
Sunday school will resume on September 10. To develop and enjoy a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is the mission statement of the Sunday school at Spring Valley Presbyterian Church. Sunday school begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 9:45 a.m. Classes are held for 2- and 3-year-olds, 4-year-olds to Kindergarten, grades 1-2, grades 3-5, grades 6-12, and Adult.
Starting September 10, adult Sunday school will focus on the Reformation. Noah Toley will be the instructor. Noah is a church elder and the director of the Center for Urban Engagement and an Associate Professor of Urban Studies and Politics & International Relations at Wheaton College. There is a nursery with paid nursery workers, so all adults are able to attend class.
Teachers are encouraged to pray by name for their students. They are also encouraged to be creative in their teaching methods. The teachers receive training to encourage and develop their growth as teachers. The teachers have been selected because they have been gifted by God to be teachers. They love God, they love children and they enjoy teaching because they are committed to serving in the area into which they feel God has gifted them.
Our Junior Church meets after the Children’s Message during the first worship service in the Fellowship Room across from the restrooms. We invite kids from 3 to 5 years of age to join us for Bible stories, crafts, music, drama, puppets and much more. We have loving and dedicated teachers ready to work with your children. Sorry, no kids under the age of 3.
